The Full Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except August). All meetings are held in the Council Chamber at the Council Offices in Skelmanthorpe starting at 7pm unless otherwise stated (see agenda).
PLEASE NOTE: As of the 7 September 2021, Council meetings will be held in person in the Council Chambers again with access to the public. Our Covid Risk Assessment is available here.

Public Discussion Time
All Council and Committee meetings are open to the public. At the beginning of each meeting 15 minutes is set aside to allow members of the public to raise issues or queries on matters relevant to the work of the Council. Members of the public are not allowed to speak during any other part of the meeting.

Finance & General Purposes Committee
The Finance & General Purposes Committee meets four times a year. All meetings are held at the council offices in Skelmanthorpe starting at 7pm (unless otherwise stated on the agenda).
The purpose of the Finance and General Purposes Committee is to:
- Consider financial, staff and other matters of a routine nature
- Consider all matters not dealt with by any other committee except such matters as are retained for consideration by the Full Council.

Plans Scrutiny Committee
The Plans Scrutiny Committee meets once a month. All meetings are held at the Council Offices in Skelmanthorpe starting at 7pm.
The purpose of the Plans Scrutiny Committee is to consider all planning applications submitted to Kirklees Metropolitan Council within the Parish.
